TWO Bahrainis among seven arrested for their alleged involvement in security-related crimes were released yesterday on guarantee of their place of residence after questioning.
"One is accused of receiving military training from a foreign group and taking part in its activities, while the second was questioned over supporting and helping him travel," said Chief Public Prosecutor Wael Buallay in a statement.
"The Public Prosecution found that keeping them in police custody was unnecessary based on where the investigations has reached so far."
The two and three other suspects are being represented by Al Adala (Justice) National Movement secretary-general lawyer Abdulla Hashim, who is currently in Cairo, Egypt.
Two others are represented by former MP, lawyer Fareed Ghazi Rafee.
The group of suspects arrested in Bahrain were helping to fund a banned organisation abroad, according to the National Security Agency.
Mr Buallay had earlier said that one man arranged the travel procedures for two other suspects, providing them with expenses and entrusting them to deliver funds to the organisation in support of its activities.
Mr Buallay stressed the authorities' action taken so far also aimed to protect the suspects from the repercussions of their involvement with a banned group, which could plot against them and their society.
One of the Bahraini suspects had been accused of being trained in use of arms and explosives abroad, with the aim of passing on his knowledge to others, sources told the GDN earlier.
They said four suspects were in custody after being arrested on August 8 and a fifth was reported to have fled the country.
