A man was found dead in a room in the Awal Hotel in the Manama suq, yesterday . Saudi Abdul Aziz Saleh Al Thamer, aged 58, booked a single room on April 23 and was last seen entering the room three days ago, said sources.

The prosecution ruled out any foul play after investigating the scene and sent the body to a medical examiner for further investigation.

A security guard found his body at 9am yesterday after complaints about foul smell coming from the room.

A hotel spokesman said Mr Al Thamer was a regular customer, who was last seen alive on Sunday, when a housekeeper knocked on his door offering to clean his room, which he refused.

Police said it appeared that Mr Al Thamer died of a heart attack, said the spokesman.
