A FIVE-YEAR-OLD Bahraini girl was receiving treatment yesterday after being hit by an SUV as she was crossing the road.

Zahra Jameel was hit by a red GMC at around 12.30pm on Saturday, according to traffic police.

The incident happened in Al Qadam near Budaiya, and the Bahraini driver was taken into custody for questioning.

Zahra was said to be in a critical condition yesterday, but no further details were available.
