College students picked up tips on essay writing at a workshop organised by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Alumni Network and AMA International University.

It took place on the university's Salmabad campus and was conducted by English literature Prof Michelle Lea–o and Prof Rene Shanker, along with General Education Centre dean Dr Roy Tumaneng.

The workshop featured an essay contest, with the best expository essay named 'Change' by Ahmed Al Mosawi, Mauree Celi, Frank Asheer and Mohammed Rashid Ali. Best argumentative essay was 'Should Bahraini women be allowed to drive?' by Huda Isa, Mohammed Tariq, Hussain Ali and Ali Janahi.
