EVERYONE is annoyed at people who smoke. It doesn't matter if it's a friend, relative or even someone you don't know. In some countries, smoking is not a big deal. But it is in the country we live in.

They should really ban smoking in public places in Bahrain especially in malls and food courts. It is really getting worse every day.

As a punishment, people should not be fined. They should be arrested!

I know it seems a bit too harsh but some people are purposely smoking in front of others, some even near non-smoking signs.

Once, when I was waiting to receive my sister at the airport, a man was smoking a cigarette near a signboard, which clearly said 'No Smoking'. I looked around to report him to security but unfortunately there was no one on duty at that time. So I asked him to put out his cigarette. He smiled and continued!

It was a bit confusing. Maybe he didn't understand what I was saying, so I just walked away.

Please stop smoking in public. One of the greatest things about giving up smoking, obviously besides improving your health and saving your life and of those around you, is the fact that you will learn a great deal about yourself. Hussain Shafei
