MANAMA: Her Highness Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Women chairwoman and wife of His Majesty King Hamad, will open the Riffa Views Bahrain International Garden Show today.

She will also present awards to winners of the show's garden-related competitions.

Thousands are expected to attend the three-day event, which opens to the public from tomorrow until Sunday at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The show is being held under the theme 'Water for Life' and features a wealth of exhibits including flowers, garden accessories and furniture, lifestyle products and art.

l The Arab Cities Organisation will honour Shaikha Sabeeka with an award for her efforts towards women empowerment, Municipalities and Agriculture Minister Dr Juma Al Ka'abi announced yesterday. Organisation secretary-general Ahmed Al Adsani will present the award on the sidelines of the opening of the garden show today.
