MUHARRAQ were drawn in group 'A' and Riffa in group 'C' last night for the 25th GCC Clubs Soccer Championship, which is scheduled to get underway in September.
The draw took place last night at the Bahrain Football Association offices in Riffa.
Muharraq, who on Friday clinched His Majesty the King's Cup after a nail-biting 9-8 shootout victory against Riffa after both teams were deadlocked through extra-time, are in the same group as Kuwait's Al Arabi and the UAE's Al Shabab. Riffa, on the other hand, are set to battle with Kuwait Sports Club and Emirati outfit Al Wasl.
In group 'B', Qatar's Al Khor and Oman's Al Sohar are with team number one from Saudi Arabia which has yet to be determined.
Group 'C' features Oman's Al Oruba and Qatar Club, as well as the second Saudi team.
Meanwhile, the draw for the sixth GCC Youth Soccer Championship was also held yesterday at the BFA.
Bahrain's under-17 squad have been placed alongside UAE and Qatar in group 'A', while Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia feature in group 'B'.
The championship will be hosted by Al Ain in the UAE from September 3 to 12.
