MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday bestowed the title of His Royal Highness Prince upon Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The royal order will be published in Bahrain's Official Gazette.
"In line with our Royal system, we have bestowed this title upon you, in emulation of our two uncles His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman, the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman whom we consider as fathers and have all our love and appreciation," His Majesty said
His Majesty sent a congratulatory cable to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad, the Crown Prince, marking his 40th birthday, praising his outstanding achievements.
"Although you are still at an early age in the life of leaders, you have proved your mettle with your outstanding achievements for Bahrain and its loyal people," His Majesty said.
"You were up to our expectations and those of all Bahrainis, showing elders' wisdom and youthful enthusiasm," the King said.
The King paid tribute to HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad for his keenness to reach out to people, visit their majlises, hear their opinions and aspirations and gauge their needs.
He praised HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad's honourable representation of Bahrain in all international arenas, stressing his crucial role as Economic Development Board chairman.
"Your position as EDB chairman is a source of hope for the nation to achieve prosperity as outlined in our Economic Vision 2030," His Majesty said.
His Majesty yesterday received cables of thanks from HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman expressing his deep honour and paying tribute to the King for all his patriotic initiatives.
He also received a similar cable from HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad, who described the royal title bestowed upon him as the best and most precious of all presents.
HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad also exchanged cables of congratulations.
