OSCAR-nominated film Mongol will be screened at 8pm tonight at the Bahrain Cinema Club, Juffair.
Directed by Sergei Bodrov, the 2007 film has a cast that includes Tadanobu Asano, Khulan Chuluun, Amadu Mamadakov and Honglei Sun.
It throws light on the cruel hardships that the young Genghis Khan endured during his early years.
The story follows the struggles of the boy born as Temudgin in 1162 right up to the battle that made him an historical figure.
Critics have said that the film paints a multi-dimensional portrait of the future conqueror and depicts him as an inspirational and courageous visionary as opposed to a ruthless brute.
The film was nominated for the Oscar Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
