HUNDREDS of people took part in an open house event at the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre, (Grand Mosque), Juffair yesterday.

Held under the patronage of Justice and Islamic Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, it was organised to encourage people of different religions to celebrate the Eid Al Adha holidays.

The programme is being sponsored by the Justice and Islamic Affairs Ministry and conducted in co-operation with Discover Islam.

Visitors experienced traditional Arabian hospitality and enjoyed traditional Bahraini sweets, cakes, pastries, dates, Arabic coffee and tea.

Henna painting was also on offer for women while a professional calligraphist was on site to write visitor's names in traditional Arabic styles. The free event, which continues today, will run from 9am to 4pm.
