THE decomposed body of a Nepalese man was yesterday found on the side of a road in Sanad.
Vayern Mahara's body was found by a Bahraini man at around 10am, who immediately called the police.
Officers cordoned off the area as they initially suspected foul play, but a medical examiner concluded that the 41-year-old died of natural causes.
Initial examinations revealed that he had died of respiratory problems, but the medical examiner is yet to submit a final report.
Police officers at the scene told the GDN that the body was decomposed because it was outside in the heat for more than eight hours.
"Even though his eyes were swollen and nose was bleeding, there was no foul play," said an officer.
"This was due to the heat and because he was lying outside for more than eight hours.
"The medical examiner inspected the body and ruled that it was a normal death."
Police also found a medical report in his pocket, which revealed that he was receiving treatment for respiratory problems at a private clinic.
The man's shoes were lying on the ground away from his body while there was a plastic bag with bananas and two half-eaten ones near a tree that shaded the body.
