MANAMA: Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has been named the Best Islamic Bank in the Middle East for the second consecutive year by emeafinance magazine.
It received the award for its leadership in the Islamic banking world, in addition to its premium services and products and its regional and global successes.
"This is another proof of the success of Islamic banking, and the outstanding performance of KFH, which is considered to be the bank spearheading this field," said KFH financing sector acting general manager Emad Al Thaqeb.
"KFH has played a pivotal role in turning Islamic banking into an important financial sector that is highly demanded around the world.
"It managed to prove that there can be an economic alternative in the global economy through its local and overseas operations, which reinforces its efforts in maintaining such a leading position as the best Islamic bank in the world," he said.
"KFH is one of the banks that has received the most awards that cover all fields," he added.
"KFH has received positive ratings from international rating agencies, and has also gained the trust of clients, which is the most important award."
The London-based magazine gave the same award to KFH last year, in addition to the Best Investment Bank in Kuwait award due to its success in various fields and continuous growth in its businesses.
A spokesman for the magazine stated that observers are keenly monitoring KFH's expansion and growth plans.
"KFH focuses on the local market, and is keen to have a strong foothold, especially in major projects that have developmental objectives, while at the same time prioritising the Gulf market without losing track of its international expansion plans that include operations in Saudi Arabia, Germany, Canada, the US, Turkey, Malaysia, Bahrain, Dubai, Jordan, China and other countries in south-east Asia," he said.
