LOCAL artists, designers and musicians will take part in an outdoor market that will spread across Block 338 in Adliya's restaurant district.
Market 338 will open today at 5pm and is being held by Al Riwaq Art Space as part of the gallery's initiative to provide the public with innovative events.
It will feature stalls for fashion, jewellery, art and food, which will be available to purchase. It is designed by Bahraini architect Sara Kanoo, using recycled and upcycled products to present a modern day-inspired suq.
The art and design fair will last for two weeks, with each weekend providing musical entertainment by acts such as Al Harith, Ryan and Zahid, Khalil Rasool, Ali Malik, Sonia and May
It will also feature a series of lectures focused on contemporary design topics in the GCC. Guest speakers include Jeddah-based Design magazine editor Kholoud Attar and Dubai-based WTD magazine editor Lujain Abulfaraj.
Market 338 is sponsored by Bahrain's Economic Development Board and the British Council. It is free and open to the public.
It will run from Sunday to Wednesday from 5pm until 9pm, and Thursday and Friday from 5pm until 11pm. On Saturday the market is open from 11am until 5pm.
