JOIN RANKS!

MANAMA: The scourge of violence and sabotage could derail services and affect their continuity, the Premier warned yesterday. He appealed to citizens to join ranks to protect property and services "which benefit them above all."

Chairing a work meeting, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa called on all parties to renounce sabotage and for services to continue without disruption.

He warned that acts of sabotage and violence in tense areas would hamper services and affect their continuity.

"Government services are there to ensure citizens' welfare and cater to their needs," he said.

He affirmed the government's resolve to continue promoting housing and educational services and upgrading facilities. However, he deplored tensions being fuelled to cripple services and hamper efforts to promote productivity.

The Premier was updated on housing, infrastructure and social projects set to be financed by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait under the GCC Marshall Plan.

Government efforts to promote investments in agriculture and animal husbandry also came under the spotlight.

The Premier urged concerned authorities to develop agricultural and animal production in order to meet growing needs.

He also stressed the necessity of setting up modern poultry farms and promoting hydroponic farming and specialised nurseries to achieve self-sufficiency, food security and boost green spaces.
