MANAMA: Despite challenging market conditions Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) was able to deliver higher value-added sales volume.
For the full-year of 2012, sales figures remained almost stable at 890,291 metric tons compared to 893,020 metric tons in 2011.
Sales figures for the fourth quarter of 2012 stood at 225,739 metric tons against 227,042 metric tons for the same period of 2011.
Alba closed 2012 value-added sales with an average of 65 per cent versus 62pc in 2011 while sales for the fourth quarter of last year represented 64pc of the total shipments as compared to 52pc in the final quarter of 2011.
"Despite the difficult London Metal Exchange Market conditions, Alba was able to increase value-added sales to boost its profit margins. Last year was a record year in production thanks to Alba's commitment to deliver stretch targets."
