ARSENAL Soccer School Bahrain organised a special friendly tournament in the under-13 and under-12 categories.
Current and former players participated in the event, which was held at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Saar.
Four teams featured in the under-13s, including Arsenal Red, Arsenal Yellow, Dubai United and Euro Academy.
The request to hold the competition followed after Dubai United coach former England player Trevor Sinclair contacted his Bahraini counterparts to arrange the event.
Matches featured two former players of Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain, namely Gregor Sword and Nathan Litvin, both of whom have moved to Dubai and represented their new team, Dubai United.
With the four teams showcasing a spirited yet competitive league-style tournament, Dubai United emerged in the top spot by winning all the games in the under 13 category, while the runners-up were the Arsenal Yellow team.
The under-12 category comprised of five teams, namely Arsenal Red, Arsenal Yellow, Dubai United, Rugby Club and Euro United from Saudi Arabia.
Arsenal Yellow stole the show in a tight and competitive tournament. It won by just two points, and were followed by Dubai United as runners-up.
"This was certainly a great weekend of football as we at the Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain are always looking forward to participating or organising competitive matches," stated Arsenal Soccer Schools MENA director Paul Shipwright.
"In this case, the request came from Trevor Sinclar and we were pleased to organise this tournament. Dubai United brought two strong sides and this is something we want our players to experience more of and to challenge them as much as possible.
"It was also great to see Gregor and Nathan again," concluded Shipwright.
