MANAMA: Bahrain's leaders congratulated Egypt's interim President Adli Mansour who was sworn in yesterday.
His Majesty King Hamad sent a cable of congratulations to the new leader, expressing confidence in his ability to assume the responsibility with competence and meet the aspirations of Egyptians at this defining moment in their country's history.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, also congratulated President Mansour.
The leaders hailed the pivotal role of the Egyptian armed forces, led by General Abdul Fattah Al Sisi, to maintain their country's stability and protect society "from leaping into the unknown".
They described Egypt's security as the pillar of Arab national security and stability, wishing the people success.
Other GCC states also welcomed the change in Egypt.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a message to President Mansour and praised the Egyptian armed forces for leading Egypt out of a "tunnel that only God knows its dimensions and repercussions".
